The first day of school!

Berlynn has been waiting for this day all summer.  She kept asking "mom is today the day I get to go back to school"?  She loves Spanish Schoolhouse and we found out her best friend Griffen is in her class!  This is Sages first year so needless to say we were a bit worried how she would adapt to nap time with all the children in the same room on mats.  Turns out she did pretty good for the first week. 

I have to give daddy all the credit for this week because I was gone all week in Denver so he was on his own getting the girls ready and out the door in the morning with lunches in hand!  Sounds like everything went smoothly, it broke my heart to be gone their first whole week of school!

Berlynn picked out their school shoes at Target.  They looked so stinkin cute I had to get a picture of it!! Oh and she insisted they both wear purple socks......I pick my battles:)

Pool Fun!

After one week of swim lessons, Berlynn is starting to swim really good. she made such good progress that her teacher told us to enroll her in the 5 and 6 year old lessons the next time around. She was so scared of the water last year and would rarely put her face in the water! Sage is fearless, she loves her floatie swimsuit, it gives her the independence she wants.

Happy 4th of July!

HAPPY 4th OF JULY!!

We were in Kansas this year at Grandma an Grandpas house it was so much fun! Grandma and Grandpa had a huge party and we all pitched in to get fireworks. Berlynn even talked Dan into taking her up to the firework stand and getting her her own bag. Poor Sage she hated the loud booms and just when she started getting ok with it, they would light off a M80 or a Sparkler Bomb and it would knock her off her feet. She got over it pretty quick and in fact when I put her to bed, she kept saying "more boom boom"! How cute is that? Berlynn was loving it. Uncle Scott even helped her hold a roman candle (I tried not to watch). Dan, Scott, Jered and the boys stayed up till 2:00 A.M. making bombs and blowing up buckets oh and drinking (scary combination). Thanks dad and Kris for hosting, I am sure we will back back every year for the 4th!

We also got a chance to see Kim and her kids. Thanks Kim for coming to the class reunion, it was so good to see you!

Sagie Boo's 1st trip to the dentist

Well I thought it would be a good idea to see if Sage could see the dentist when Berlynn went last month. After all, Berlynn LOVES Dr. Rozas and didn't mind her 1st visit, she layed back and let her brush her teeth and was really excited to get her treats to take home. Sage on the other hand was so freaked out. She was not one bit excited to lay back in the chair and screamed and cried the whole time she brushed her teeth. I felt horrible, poor baby! I guess I should have waited about 6 more months!

Sage peeped in the potty!

She has been wanting to sit on the toilet randomly so I decided to buy her a little potty stool. Sure enough when we were in Mexico, she peeped 3 times in her potty! We didn't believe Mariana because I thought she was too young and sure enough she wanted to show off her skills and pooped and peeped in the potty for us!! I am not getting my hopes up but it looks like we are moving in the right direction. She desperately wants to do everything Berlynn does so I wouldn't be surprised if she picks this up pretty quick. Yay!

End of year!

Another year goes by so fast. Berlynn is so excited for summer because she gets to staying home with Mariana and Sage. We are so sad to being saying goodbye to another great group of teachers. We loved Angela, Maria and Lili and everyone at Spanish Schoolhouse. One bit of exciting news is that Berlynn will get to have Ms Maria again next year in the kindergarten class. Sage's new obsession

She wants to wear them every night and she only has one pair. If she doesn't have them she will pull out a pair of Berlynns and carry them to bed with her. Lets hope this obsession passes before her teenage years........

End of Year Show!

Sweet little Santiago....Berlynns dance partner at her end of year show. When he found out she was his partner he said, "awhhh, but she is too tall". They did the Waltz, it was precious! They looked so fancy! When the show was over, Berlynn said, "Daddy Santi and I danced together so that means we are married".

We absolutely LOVE going to the shows at Spanish Schoolhouse. The kids put so much time into learning their dances and perfecting them. They even have to practice everyday in front of the entire school! Berlynn was so good, I am so proud of her. Can't wait to see the DVD!

It was bound to happen..

Oh ya....she cut her bangs!!! The funny part is that I busted her with scissors in hand and I took the scissors away. She went and found another pair to finish the job!

Preschool Graduation!

Berlynn had her preschool graduation today, it was so sweet! They all got to go on stage and tell everyone what they would like to be when they grow up. Berlynn says, "I want to be an art teacher".

Since her birthday is Sept 26th she technically has one more year left of Preschool. The school recomended she do the Kindergarten program because they think she is ready. So she will go to public school Kindergarten the following year. I am so proud of my little baby, she is reading in English and Spanish........she gets the brains from her daddy:)

Out of the blue yesterday...
B: Mommy do you miss your mom?
Me: Yes I miss her very much every day
B: I know what she looks like, I saw her when I was a baby
Me: you saw her?
B: Yes I had magic eyes and I saw her

Before I give up the stats I have to give an update on Sages little personality. She has changed sooo much over the last few months.

She is the baby who:
*Thinks her cracker tastes better only after it is dipped in the dogs water bowl
*Demands a specific song in the car
*Runs down the middle of the street saying, "bye", then lays down on her back
*Says "NO" when I tell her I love her
*Walks around saying, "Blah, Blah, Blah"
*Launches her milk or food accross the room when she is done
*Will go up to complete strangers, say "Hi", sit on their laps or snuggle next to them
*Smears her yogurt in her hair first before putting it in her mouth
*Often eats dog food
*Will not allow us to help her on the playground...even on the big slide
*Can hang from a bar for 90 seconds....
*Does everything big sister does and more.....she is a dare devil
*Loves tossing food off her highchair to the dogs
*Hates riding in grocery carts, strollers or wagons...she likes to be on the go
*LOVES animals
*Ignores anyone trying to take her picture
*Works the crowd anywhere she is waving and saying "Hi", "Hola"
*Loves to throw her toys in the toilet
*Demands to watch her favorite show "eebee" multiple times a day
*Sits on the train table and throws every piece across the room
*Will take a bite of food, just to spit it out

Ok can you tell I am tired yet......with all this being said, she is such a little cutie! Naughty yes but I love her just the same. She is so sweet!
