Carly's Angels

Shortly after school started this year, Berlynn's little friend Carly only 4 years old was diagnosed with stage 4 Wilms tumor that had spread to her lungs, liver and around her heart. A few of us parents were desperate to help this little girl and her family.....a few weeks later a foundation was started called "Carly's Angels" to pay for Carly's medical bills.

Here she is in the hospital having Chemo, making the best of it with a smile on her face:)

Our Carly's Angels team; Lisa Lundgren, Anna Lucio, Anne White and Myself. We all had pink wigs and accessories to support Carly and her favorite color pink. When her mom told her she was going to loose her hair from the chemo, she let her die her hair PINK!! What a great way to help make something scary a little more fun!

Our fundraising started by having weekly bake sales to for 6 consecutive weeks. What a HUGE success! We had so many businesses donate food items for our bake sales, people couldn't wait to eat it up!! We finished with a big "Family Fun Run" at Andy Brown park where 450 people came together to walk for Carly and support the foundation. I am so proud to say in just 8 weeks, we raised $24,000 for the family. Everyone on the team dedicated so much time in making this event a HUGE success!!! We could not have had a better team with so many talents to pull this off. We had an overwhelming response from this community from schools doing fundraisers, to corporate sponsors. There are too many people to thank I don't even know where to start. Our story was also featured in the Dallas Morning News and in the Coppell Advocate! Whoo hoo!
